Playa del Carmen

Chaak Tun Cenote is located a short drive from Playa del Carmen. If you go by taxi it will cost approximately 150 pesos and you can arrange with the taxi driver to have him wait there to drive you back. This cenote is not well known so you will not get the crowds like at other cenotes. Admission fee is $30.00 US per person which includes a guided tour, wetsuit, mask, water shoes and flashlight. The tour lasts about an hour, hour and a half and will bring you through three cenotes. Two have water, which is refreshing and one does not. The cenotes have some tight spaces and there are lots of bats. If you want to spend a couple of hours away from the beach where there aren’t a lot of crowds this would be the cenote to explore.
