Playa del Carmen

Xcaret

The perfect combination of nature, history and more, Xcaret has everything from Mayan ruins and caves to the Chapel of Guadalupe and the St. Francis of Assisi Chapel. There is also a cemetery and the Hacienda Henequenera – a display of Mexican history. Enjoy Paradise River on a river raft and experience the wonders of the jungle.

Xcaret means “Mexico’s sacred paradise” and is one of the most popular eco parks. Mayans used to bathe in its water to purify their minds and bodies before sailing to Cozumel to worship the goddess of fertility. At Xcaret you will enjoy the Mayan archeological sites, a jungle trail, and wildlife breeding farm, coral reef and butterfly pavilion. You can swim, snorkel in the clear blue water or soak up some sun on the beach. “Xcaret Mexico Espectacular” is a night show with dance, culture and Mexican history.

Admission is $99 USD but if you book online $89 USD. The admission price includes shows, exhibitions, water activities, and access to beaches, bays and natural pools, life jackets, inner tubes, lounge chairs, restrooms, “Xcaret Mexico Espectacular” and parking. Xcaret is open daily from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm and is located 15 minutes outside of Playa del Carmen.
